Where as, all those words may contribute to New Orleans, during my humanities travel course I hope to learn more in depth, beyond the stereotypes of the city, the small details that make New Orleans it's own. Every city has a story beyond what is heard on the news or written online and I think that is what I'm most excited about during this upcoming adventure. I took this course because even though nursing is my passion, nursing involves caring for people of all different, races, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds which makes me eager to interact with the people of New Orleans, who know the city best. Knowing
that every patient I care for in the future will have different needs, I will always go the extra mile
for any patient under my care to advocate for their values and beliefs. I will take full advantage of having this opportunity to travel to New Orleans and become aware of new cultures and use this knowledge in my future practice. Nursing is an ever changing
profession, it allows for endless opportunities of learning something new every
day.
