January 3rd, What I've learned?

Inner Journey Blog #3, January 3rd 2020

All I can say is, wow am I tired... After departing from Champaign at 10pm last night, Mindy and I could not get comfortable in our train seats which resulted in us only getting two hours of sleep. With it being both of our first times riding on a train, we did not expect the lights to stay on the entire night nor did we expect people to be continuously walking up and down the isles searching for seats as people boarded the train at each stop. Even though, running on two hours of sleep was difficult for me today, it was oh so worth it after seeing and exploring the French Quarter of New Orleans. Below, I have attached two of my favorite photos of my journey thus far..

Both photos are of the St. Louis Cathedral. New Orleans is known for many things, but one is it's stunning architecture. During the haunted history tour this evening, I learned that the St. Louis Cathedral is the oldest continuously active Roman Catholic Cathedral in the United States. I also learned that it was originally built in 1727 and dedicated to King Louis IX of France. The original St. Louis Cathedral burned during the great fire of 1794 and was rebuilt. New Orleans just from one day of experience is a city that is filled with so much beauty and completely amazed me at first sight. As my journey in New Orleans continues, I hope you my blogger followers continue to follow along with me as my journey of this amazing and beautiful city, we call New Orleans.
